Boyce Avenue In The Spotlight

6 March 2009 by: Frederick Carle One Comment

This past month I’ve discovered this amazing band called Boyce Avenue. They are a Florida-based band popular for its strong acoustic roots and constant drive toward a melody- and harmony-driven rock sound. They consists of the three brothers Alejandro (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Piano), Fabian (Guitar, Background Vocals), and Daniel (Bass, Background Vocals) Manzano, and Stephen Hatker (Drums, Percussion).

The band qualified as a Southeast Semifinalist in the 2007 IMWS competition; “All The While” was selected as a Semi-Finalist in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition, and as one of twelve Lennon Award Winners in the 2007 John Lennon Songwriting Contest; “Find Me” was selected as a Finalist in the Pop category for the U.S.A. Songwriting Competition; and “Hear Me Now (piano acoustic)” was selected as a finalist in the Best Group/Duo category for the IAMA songwriting competition, and as a finalist in the 2008 International Songwriting Competition.

Through the years Boyce Avenue has worked with big names like Kris Sampson (Train, the Black Crowes), Don McCollister (Sister Hazel, Third Day), Veit Renn (Jennifer Hudson), Adam Barber (Creed, Shinedown, Alterbridge), Austin Deptula (Eisley, New Found Glory) and Rodney Mills (Pearl Jam, REM, Sheryl Crow).

They recently went on a tour in the Philippines. They visited four different places where they performed live for their very numerous fans in the region. In every one of these shows they signed autographs and took many picture with fans of all ages. I will post more info on this tour as it becomes available.

For now I invite you to watch their videos on youtube or you can also buy their music on iTunes.
