Bar: pronounced bär, (sometimes known as a pub or tavern) is a business were drinks and sometimes food is served. Most drinks are alcoholic beverages such as beer, liquor, and mixed drinks. Bars provide stools or chairs for the raised counters were the drinks are served. Some bars have entertainment such as a live band, comedians, dancers, strippers. A home bar is basically a bar in your home, pretty obvious.

Enough on the general info. Building the perfect home bar is a demanding task. The many types and varieties of alcohol to choose from may seem confusing, but it is rather easy to build up a basic bar. Here is a basic alcohol checklist, if you want to create your own perfect home bar.

Spirits and Wines

• Gin
• Vodka
• Brandy
• Rum
• Tequila
• Blended whiskey or whiskey
• Dry vermouth
• Red and White wine
• Champagne or Sparkling wine
• Malt liquor
• Beer

Liqueurs

• Triple sec, Curaçao, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier
• Blue curaçao
• Kahlùa or other coffee liqueur
• Pernod

Mixers

• Ginger ale
• Cola
• Soda pop
• Tonic water
• Club soda
• Sparkling mineral water
• Fruit juices (ideally freshly squeezed)

Flavoring and Garnishes

• Angostura bitters
• Worcestershire sauce
• Tabasco sauce
• Grenadine
• Superfine and powdered sugar
• Sugar syrup or corn syrup
• Salt
• Cocktails cherries
• Cocktails olives
• Cocktails onions
• Lemons, limes, and oranges
