E3 is finally here and boy was it worth the wait. Already many new games, tech and improvements have been announced which will shape both the present and future of gaming as we know it. Today Microsoft held it’s press event and 360blog.org is here to give you all the juicy details of just what was announced. So let’s get to it and start this article the same way Microsoft kicked off their event.

The Beatles: Rock Band

After both the above trailer and the AMAZING opening cinematic, Yoko Ono, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr took the stage to help promote the game, which I am sure has now become the most wanted music game in history. The launch date was also confirmed to be the same day as the re-release of all The Beatles’s album’s in remastered form.

Tony Hawk: Ride

The next game to be demoed live was Tony Hawk: Ride and who else but Mr. Skateboard himself was on stage to give players all the info they needed on the new skateboard peripheral, which actually detects every movement the players makes, even down to bending down and putting your hand beside it to pick it up, this is done via an IR camera on the side.

Modern Warfare 2

Recently voted our most anticipated game of E3 (check out the rest here) Modern Warfare 2 did not fail to deliver, with an amazing live demo.

Final Fantasy XIII

The next game to be demoed was Final Fantasy XIII running on the Xbox 360 for the 1st time. In the video we see the heroes battling a giant mech-like dragon.

Note: The following games were announced as Xbox 360 exclusive.

Shadow Complex & Joy Ride (XBLA)

Epic Games (Gears Of War) was the next studio to present, and showed their new Xbox Live Arcade project Shadow Complex off. The game is said to ‘be a mix of Metroid and Castlevania’ and features all the platforming and shooting that one would want.

Joy Ride was next, a kart racer that uses the avatar’s as playable characters. Guess one of my predictions came true.

Crackdown 2 & Left 4 Dead 2

A couple of huge trailers for equally huge games were shown. The sequel to the super-hero like game Crackdown 2 was announced as well as the uber-gory Left 4 Dead 2 which will keep us fighting zombies over and over again.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction

Another one of our highly anticipated games of E3, Conviction showed off some amazing gameplay and a brand new look.

Forza Motorsport 3

Well racing fans here it is. The racing game of the generation (because we didn’t here that enough.)

Halo 3: ODST & Halo: Reach

Not only did we get a gameplay demo for Halo 3: ODST but also the debut trailer for a brand new Halo game!

Alan Wake

The long awaited Alan Wake finally got a full demo and a tentative release schedule, and it looks damn good,

Note: The next portion of the conference was dedicated to improvements coming to the Xbox 360.

Microsoft announced many partnerships at E3, and here they are:

  • Last FM: brings live streaming radio to the console
  • Sky: The UK and Ireland are finally getting their own streaming video service, including live tv.
  • HD Movies: Now you can watch HD movies in 1080P directly from your Xbox 360.
  • Facebook: A new custom designed Facebook page for the Xbox 360.
  • Twitter: Same as Facebook

Show Stealers: Metal Gear Solid: Rising

That’s right Metal Gear is coming to the Xbox 360!

Show Stealers: Project ‘Natal’

Move over Nintendo Wii, project Natal is here.

That concludes our look at Mircosoft tune in tomorrow for both the Nintendo and Sony recap.
